Gary A. Smith, MD, DrPH: Gary is Professor of Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, and Epidemiology at the Ohio State University, and founder and director of the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He holds the Dimon R. McFerson Endowed Chair in Injury Research. Dr. Smith has been an active researcher and advocate in the field of injury for more than 35 years. He served as the first president of the Midwest Injury Prevention Alliance.

Jennifer Martin, MSW: Jennifer serves as the Injury and Violence Prevention Project Manager and has coordinated unintentional and intentional injury projects for over sixteen years for the Illinois Department of Public Health. Through these initiatives, Ms. Martin facilitated work around community awareness, data improvement, education, evaluation, gatekeeper training strategic planning, system change and training. She currently oversees the Core VIPP program. Ms. Martin is the state designee to the Safe States Alliance, the Suicide Prevention Resource Center and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Prior to her work in injury prevention, she worked in the fields of community organizing and case management. Ms. Martin received her degree in Criminal Justice from the Illinois State University and Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign.

Mary Raley, BSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, TNSCC: Mary is the Injury Prevention/Trauma Education/Outreach Coordinator for Trauma Services at St. Vincent Evansville with over 40 years experience in staffing and leadership roles in Emergency and Trauma Services. She is the coordinator for the ATLS Course for Physicians and the Illinois Trauma Nurse Specialist Course. She is a Certified Emergency Nurse and Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, and serves as instructor for a number of educational programs, including CEN reviews. Mary is active at the state and national levels of the Emergency Nursing Association.
